Overall Purpose of the Role:

To support the Head of Finance in recording and retrieving financial details of the company, including maintaining financial records, processing payments and salaries. To provide accurate and timely financial support to team members as required.

Main Activities and Responsibilities:

•Work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure the smooth operation of all finance matters

•Ensure priority is given to daily cashflow reporting and management, including daily monitoring of bank balances, management of currencies and review of forecast information as and when necessary

•Support the Finance Manager by inputting into sales and purchase ledgers from source documents and ensuring sales invoices are raised timely and accurately and suppliers are paid promptly

•Expense management, including checking of all submitted expenses and credit card forms and inputting into ledger ensuring maximum VAT is reclaimed as appropriate

•Assist with month end / year end procedures including ensuring that key balance sheet accounts are reconciled

•Accurate and timely processing of payroll and all related statutory taxes including VAT / PAYE etc.

•Assistance with debt collection as and when necessary

•Producing weekly and monthly management reports and other ad hoc reports as required

•Resolution of finance related queries

•Provide financial support to team members

•Assistance with Human Resource administration where necessary

•Adheres to Company Policies and Procedures, including the Information Security Policy

•Is sensitive to customer confidentiality and displays extreme professionalism at all times

•Any other duties that may be deemed appropriate to this rol

The role demands the following skills, abilities and qualities:


•Educated to degree level or equivalent with an appropriate accounting qualification and/or previous experience in a similar role

•Fully experienced in working with computerised accounting software


•Experience in dealing with multiple currencies

Skill and Abilities

•Experience of working within a finance department with a good understanding of accounting processes and procedures

•Strong IT skills including computerised accounting software

•Good communication and organisation skills

•Ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines

•Able to work in a busy office environment that often demands high levels of concentration

•Able to manage high volume workload and respond effectively to changing priorities

•Self-motivated and enthusiastic and able to work effectively with minimal management guidance/supervision

•Willingness to accept responsibility for tasks

•Excellent problem-solving skills, proactively taking ownership where required

•Good analytical ability and problem solving skills

•The ability to work independently and as part of a team
